SSL certificates contain identifying information, such as the qualified domain name used for DNS lookups of your server (also called Common Name), your organisation or company name and location information. This information is called the certificate's Distinguished Name. When generating a Certificate Signing Request (CSR) on your web server, you are asked to enter the Distinuguished Name, which is uniquely identifying the server.

When renewing an SSL certificate, the Distinguished Name that you want to appear in your new certificate must be matching the Distinguished Name in your current certificate.

If the Distinguished Name changes, please contact us.
