Which browser can I use to apply for an S/MIME certificate?

The private key for an S/MIME certificate is generated by the browser during certificate registration. When the send button is pressed, a key pair of the selected size is generated. Of the private keys is encrypted and in the local key database saved. Neither Secorio nor the issuing CA has the opportunity to view your private key when issuing individual certificates or issuing via EPKI. SMIME certificates can only be used with Internet Explorer on Windows respectively Safari on Apple / MacOS for certificate registration because they are easy to use and convenient for the user.

Note: Firefox version 68 and earlier can be used for this purpose. Firefox has Keygen support Version 69 discontinued [published on September 3, 2019]
